AN ACT relating to state financial administration; renaming the position of Chief of the Budget Division of the Office o
Existing law creates the Office of Finance in the Office of the Governor. The Office of Finance consists of the Director and two divisions, the Budget Division and the Division of Internal Audits. (NRS 223.400) Under existing law, the Director is responsible, in part, for the administration, through the Budget Division, of the State Budget Act. (NRS 223.420) Existing law: (1) requires the Director to appoint a Chief of the Budget Division; and (2) sets forth certain powers and duties of the Chief relating to the State Budget Act and other provisions of existing law. (NRS 218G.400, 223.430, 231.3729, 242.221, 244.339, 285.030, 286.282, 353.150-353.246, 353.263, 353.325, 353.331, 353.335, 353.500-353.630, 358.020, 381.0033, 388.700, 439.630, 501.337, 501.3585, 701A.110, 701A.360, 701A.375) Existing law also prescribes the qualifications of the Chief and authorizes the Director of the Office of Finance to serve in the position of Chief if the Director possesses those qualifications. (NRS 223.430, 353.175) Section 2 of this bill renames the position of Chief of the Budget Division as the Administrator of the Budget Division. Section 3 of this bill makes a conforming change as a result of renaming the position. Sections 4-46 of this bill transfer the qualifications of the Chief and the powers and duties of the Chief in the State Budget Act and other existing law to the Director of the Office of Finance.
