AN ACT relating to collective bargaining; removing the exemption from compliance with any provision of existing law requ
Existing law exempts from any provision of existing law which requires a meeting to be open or public certain proceedings conducted relating to collective bargaining between public employers and public employees. Proceedings subject to the exemption include, among others: (1) any negotiation or informal discussion between a local government employer and an employee organization or employees as individuals or between the Executive Department of State Government and a labor organization or employees as individuals; (2) any meeting of a mediator with either party or both parties to a negotiation; and (3) any meeting or investigation conducted by a fact finder or arbitrator. (NRS 288.220, 288.590) Sections 1 and 2 of this bill remove the exemption for those specified proceedings.
